Job summary

Ingram Marine Group is seeking qualified Linehaul Pilots responsible for safe navigation and high performance on major rivers including the Upper Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee. The role requires strong leadership, supervision, and adherence to USCG and environmental regulations.

Qualified candidates hold USCG Masters of Towing, FCC Radio Operator license, MMC, Radar Endorsement, and TWIC among others; CPR/First Aid/AED certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must hold or be able to obtain a USCG Masters of Towing license.
  • Must hold a FCC Radio Operator license.
  • Must hold a valid MMC.
  • Must hold a Radar Endorsement.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a valid TWIC card.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to read/write English per USCG requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure crew safety, vessel, environment, and towing operations through safety systems and regulations.
  • Supervise the Mate and Deckhands in coordination with Captain and HR/Operations.
  • Ensure vessel compliance with USCG and environmental laws.
  • Assist with crew performance evaluations and delegating duties based on experience.
  • Participate in safety meetings and drills; contribute to decision-making.
  • Perform administrative duties and coordinate with organization at all levels.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Ingram Marine Group is seeking qualified Linehaul Pilots that will be responsible for the safe navigation and high performance of our vessels on the Upper Mississippi, Lower Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Cumberland and Illinois Rivers.

Job Description
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Safety of the crew, vessel, environment and towing operations through use of Ingram's safety systems, policies and the "rules of the road"
  • Supervision of the Mate and Deckhands in consultation with the Captain and Operations/HR
  • Vessel compliance with USCG and environmental laws and regulations
  • Assisting with performance evaluations of crew members
  • Delegating vessel responsibilities, duties, and tasksconsidering crew members experience andabilities
  • Assisting with safety meetings and drills
  • Basic critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Assisting with administrative duties
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization
  • Performing other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Hold or be able to obtain a USCG Masters of Towing license
  • Hold a FCC Radio Operator license
  • Hold a valid MMC
  • Hold a Radar Endorsement
  • Hold a valid Driver's License
  • Hold or be able to obtain a valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Be CPR, First Aid, AED Certified or willing to obtain certifications upon hire
  • Pass a post-offer process if an offer is made (background check, drug screen, physical)
  • Must be able to read and write the English language in order to comply with USCG regulatory requirements
