Job summary

Prince in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking an experienced tradesperson to perform welding, prepare concrete form work, and maintain related equipment on active construction sites. You will read blueprints, calculate weld dimensions, inspect outputs, and operate generators and power tools under supervision.

The role involves outdoor work in all weather, long hours of standing, lifting, and manual dexterity for handling heavy materials and tools.

Qualifications

• Must understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
• Three to five years or more of industry-related experience is required, with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
• Outdoor work in all weather, including extreme heat; long hours of standing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, squatting and walking.
• Dexterity to handle generators, lumber, forms, power tools, and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Calculate dimensions to be welded and ensure proper tolerances.
• Inspect structures or materials to be welded for quality and safety.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies as needed on site.
• Monitor the welding process to prevent overheating and defects.
• Smooth and polish all surfaces after welding or grinding.
• Maintain equipment and machinery to ensure reliability.
• Build and set forms for pouring concrete.

Job Requirements

• Manual dexterity to handle and carry generators, lumber and other construction materials, forms, power tools, and hand tools.
• Maintain constant awareness of the jobsite’s various concurrent activities, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
