Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience with Python for data transformation; knowledge of data lake architectures; Power BI reporting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows to ingest, transform, and provision data into the project analytics data lake.
  • Collaborate with teams to onboard data sources, implement data governance, and optimize data models and performance.
  • Support reporting platforms with performant datasets for Power BI and analytics tools; enable AI/ML data support.

Job Summary

The PIIM Data Engineer supports the company's data-centric delivery model by designing, building, and maintaining the project's analytics data environment. This role is responsible for developing scalable data pipelines, integrating data across project systems, and creating trusted datasets that enable reporting, analytics, automation, and emerging AI capabilities. The position serves as a key technical resource supporting project execution through data-driven solutions and advanced analytics. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows to ingest, transform, and provision data from multiple project systems into the project analytics data lake. • Manage data ingestion and exchange across tools, ensuring reliable, timely, and accurate movement of data between systems. • Serve as the project subject matter expert for the analytics data lake environment, including data architecture, access patterns, performance optimization, and advanced analytics support. • Collaborate with project teams and system owners to define data requirements, onboard new data sources, and support system integrations. • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes and optimize SQL data models. • Develop curated datasets to support reporting, dashboards, analytics, and downstream applications. • Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness across project systems. • Support reporting platforms by delivering performant datasets for Power BI and other analytics tools. • Support the development and deployment of AI, machine learning, and agent-based solutions by preparing data and operationalizing outputs into project workflows. • Enable automation and data-driven solutions that improve project execution, productivity, and decision making. • Support governance, security, and lifecycle management of project data assets. • Partner with PIIM, IS&T, Automation, Engineering, Construction, Quality, and Project Controls teams to improve data accessibility and integration.
Education and Experience Requirements

Required Knowledge and Skills
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong SQL and data modeling experience in relational databases.• Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT solutions.• Experience developing and supporting data pipelines and workflows.• Programming experience in Python for data transformation, preparation, and pipeline development.• Understanding of data lake architectures and modern analytics platforms.• Experience with Power BI datasets, reporting architectures, and analytics solutions.• Knowledge of data quality management, validation, and governance principles.• Experience integrating data across multiple systems using APIs and data exchange frameworks.• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and how data pipelines support advanced analytics solutions.
