Job summary

eGenesis is seeking a Neonatal Care Technician to care for piglets, follow SOPs, record health data, and support veterinary staff in a multi-environment facility. The role requires safety awareness, teamwork, and flexible scheduling.

Ideal candidates have experience with animal care, health observation, and a willingness to expand knowledge in animal health and biosecurity practices. Regulatory compliance and data entry are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Exposure to animal handling and basic animal health concerns.
• Eagerness to learn or further knowledge relating to animal health.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Schedule flexibility.
• AALAS certification (preferred).
• 1+ years of relevant experience in animal research (preferred).
• Knowledge and expertise of veterinary procedures (preferred).
• Knowledge and expertise in animal research (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily care of piglets in the eGenesis Neonatal facility.
• Take daily weights and temperatures of each piglet.
• Clean daily following SOPs.
• Feed piglets following SOPs.
• Observe piglets and record clinical observations.
• Provide treatments per veterinary instruction including emergency care.
• Record information in dedicated databases.
• Interpret and report piglet health status to supervisor and staff.
• Participate in meetings as requested.
• Ensure SOP compliance and train on SOPs.
• Monitor environment and report deviations.
• Promote safety in the workplace and maintain equipment.
• Follow regulatory requirements regarding animal welfare.
• Occasionally work overnight/weekend shifts with rotating schedule.
