Job summary

Driscoll Children’s Hospital seeks a Unit Tech Level II for the PICU to provide clerical, equipment, and patient care support in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires graduation from a Nurse Aide School with current Nurse Aide certification, and ongoing BLS/CPR with NCI or DHS-equivalent training within six months of hire and maintained thereafter. The position is full-time and on-site in Edinburg, TX.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Nurse Aide School.
• Nurse Aide Certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) continuously maintained.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or DHS-equivalent within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Respond to communications devices (phone/vocera/call bells) and perform basic EMR entries.
• Stock supplies, check expiration dates, order supplies, and clean equipment.
• Transport blood borne pathogens/specimens and deliver to units; prep instruments for processing.
• Assist in patient care by transporting patients for tests/procedures and assisting with room orientation.
