Job summary

Banner Health in Glendale, AZ seeks a Registered Nurse for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. This full-time night-shift role requires an RN-PICU background and current BLS certification.

The unit provides care for diverse pediatric conditions in a 17-bed environment, with opportunities to pursue pediatric certifications and oncology/hematology training. As a PICU RN you will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate

Qualifications

RN with PICU experience required.
Current RN license in state of practice; compact license or temporary license allowed as applicable.
BLS certification required; additional pediatric certifications preferred.
Banner requires minimum 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting, including recent work in pediatric care.

Responsibilities

Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and educational needs and plan discharge accordingly.
Develop a measurable, patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with patient/family and health team.
Implement the plan through direct care, delegation, and supervision of staff while ensuring policy compliance.
Evaluate patient responses and outcomes, updating care plans as needed.
Document assessments, plans, and interventions clearly and timely in the patient record.
Participate in unit/organization quality initiatives and mentor other staff as appropriate.
