Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a skilled RN for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You will provide direct nursing care to critically ill children from birth through late teens in a teamwork‑oriented, supportive environment.

Work with pediatric intensivists, therapists and case managers to create care plans, monitor vitals, administer medications, document patient status, and educate families while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Virginia Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
• 1 year of pediatric unit experience preferred.
• BLS/BCLS certification.
• PALS certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and social workers.
• Maintain thorough documentation and vital signs monitoring.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
