Job summary

Michigan Medicine’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) seeks skilled pediatric bedside nurses for a 30-bed monitored ICU at Mott Children’s Hospital. You will care for neonates to young adults, using ECMO, nitric oxide, HFV, and CRRT when appropriate, in a family-centered environment.

Responsibilities include critical care monitoring, rapid response, and collaboration with pediatric subspecialties. This role requires MI RN licensure, NICU experience, and PALS/ACLS certifications where

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan is required.
• 12 months of current Neonatal ICU RN experience is required.
• PALS certification is required (or within six months of hire) or must be completed prior to end of probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention for high-risk conditions.
• Deliver family-centered care, including supporting families during rounds, providing education, and serving as a patient advocate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans and coordinate transitions from PICU to lower acuity units.
• Ensure safety and high-quality care through vigilant assessment and timely escalation when patient status changes.
