Job summary

Pacific Air Forces seeks a part-time crafts worker at the Arts and Crafts Center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), AK. This Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) position offers a regular schedule of 20–34 hours per week.

Open to all applicants in the Alaska area; eligibility includes entitlement proofs and a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Candidates should have basic woodworking skills and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds with occasional heavier items.

Qualifications

• Experience with woodworking materials, techniques and basic layout for repetitive tasks.
• Able to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and move heavier items with assistance.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to deal with the public.
• Must pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

About the position

This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center on JBER, AK.

Regular Part-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 20 hours per week to a maximum of 34 hours per week.

Eligibility and Preferences

Qualifications

• Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of a limited range of woodworking materials, techniques and processes; skill in basic layout procedures for repetitive assignments; skill in use of a variety of hand and power tools such as drills, hammers, miter box, frame cutters, and corner jigs.
• Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and move heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
• Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
