Job summary

Apex Park and Recreation District is seeking a Pickleball Instructor to plan, organize, and lead safe, engaging pickleball classes, clinics, leagues, and programs. The instructor will foster a positive learning environment that promotes sportsmanship, skill progression, and enjoyment of the game.

Ideal candidates will be able to motivate diverse participants, demonstrate proper techniques, and ensure safe playing practices across indoor and outdoor settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate proper pickleball techniques.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage participants of varying ages and abilities.
• Knowledge of safe playing practices and injury prevention.
• Ability to manage groups in a recreational or instructional setting.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Position Summary, Duties And Responsibilities

The Pickleball Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading safe, engaging, and instructional pickleball classes, clinics, leagues, and special programs. The instructor will create a positive learning environment that promotes sportsmanship, skill progression, and enjoyment of the game. Participants include those of varying ages and skill levels.

This position requires strong fundamental knowledge of pickleball to include:

• rules and scoring
• techniques and strategies
• court positioning
• player development
• game strategy
• serving
• strokes

Job Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate proper pickleball techniques.

Education and Experience

Work Environment

Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
