Job summary

Chicago Sport and Social Club (CSSC) invites you to join the fall internship with Big City Pickleball events in Chicago. The role blends marketing, communications, and sponsorship activation, with demanding evenings and weekend hours and occasional office work.

You will support leagues, events, and sponsorships, help plan sponsor bars, generate social posts and recap materials, and participate in weekly sponsorship meetings and major tournaments at North Ave Beach and other venues.

Qualifications

POSITION ONE Big City Pickleball Events Internship Dates of Fall Internship: Dates based on applicants current scholastic schedule

Responsibilities : Assist with leagues, events, tournaments, fitness and sponsorship activations at Big City Pickle (BCP) and some Chicago Sport and Social Club (CSSC) events. Note, this internship requires evening and weekend hours and occasional office work. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Activate sponsorship events and tournaments for clients
    • Assist in permitting, load-in/out, and serve as liaison between BCP staff and clients’ activation teams
    • Support in the logistic aspects, but not limited to, maintaining accurate lists of event-specific assets for all activations.
    • Professionally communicate and track all communication with sponsors and their 3rd-party vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Help maintain sponsorship activation calendar and stay on top of all deliverable deadlines.
  • Assist with the recruiting and planning of sponsor bars.
    • Assist in sponsor bar programming, which includes activating sponsor bar samplings, mixers, and champs parties.
  • Assist with sponsorship content generation and recap statistics for
    • Instagram & Facebook posts and reels & Stories and TikTok content
    • Generate photos and raw video of sponsor activations, Leagues, Events and, and sponsor bar events for client recaps and adding to a library of content for future marketing and sales use.
  • Participate in Weekly Sponsorship Department meetings and Monthly Sponsorship x Marketing meetings.
  • Presence at all BCP Tournaments, Fitness Festival Events, Sports viewing events at The Garden, Sponsorship Activations and Beach House/Six Pack Volleyball tournament (June 28 at North Ave Beach), Volleywood Festival and Tournament (July 19 at North Ave Beach)
  • Other operational/administrative tasks
  • Qualifications
    1. Degree (or currently in college for) or strong experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality, Event Planning or equivalent experience (applicants must be 18+ years of age or older)
    2. 1-2 years of relevant experience
    3. Writing and communication skills
    4. Strong organizational skills
    5. Strong work ethic and desire to learn and contribute
    6. Passionate, enthusiastic, and creative
    7. Desire to have fun and bring people together!

Compensation: Interns will work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week within the CSSC office assisting with the overall administration and management of CSSC leagues and events. This portion of the internship will be unpaid. Interns will also work a minimum of 15 hours per week at Big City Pickle with event management, marketing and promotions. This portion of the internship will be paid. This will be approximately 20-30 hours per week. Willing to work with your educational institution to ensure you receive internship credit hours toward your degree.
