Responsibilities

• Coaches lower level programs and monitors the work area to prevent emergencies.
• Explains and enforces safety rules for sports and equipment use.
• Assesses clients and prepares workouts based on requirements.
• Offers alternatives during classes to accommodate different fitness levels.
• Keeps track of client progress and documents results.
• Administers basic first aid to clients as needed.
• Maintains and inspects exercise equipment; orders supplies as needed.
• Communicates athlete progress to supervisor and parents.

Education

• Required - Must be at least 16 years old.

Work Experience

• Required - None.
• Preferred - 2 years experience in a relevant sport (For example Aquatics, Gymnastics).

Certifications

• Required - CPR (Will train within 30 days of hire).
• USA sport specific certification (Current or within 90 days of date of hire).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.

• Working knowledge of progressions based on athletes performance.

Job Duties

• Coaches lower level programs, monitors the work area to prevent emergency situations, and responds effectively in an emergency situation.
• Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
• Assesses the needs of clients and prepares workout regime based on the requirements.
• Offers alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
• Keeps track of client progress and accurately documents the results.
• Administers basic first aid to clients in case of injuries.
• Maintains exercise equipment, replaces damaged materials, and orders supplies to maintain inventory levels.
• Follows guidelines as directed by Assistant and Head Coach.
• Communicates athlete’s progress to supervisor and parents.
• Performs other duties as needed.
