Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Pickup and Delivery Clerk to coordinate with drivers, ensure proper paperwork for daily runs, and aid dispatchers with administrative tasks.

You will handle driver manifests, BOLs, payments, and tracing shipments while delivering high-quality service to customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of office/operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Experience with AS400 preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Print drivers’ manifests and provide hazardous materials of lading to the appropriate personnel.
• Scan bills of lading and driver receipts into the system for billers to access.
• Handle and process checks, CODs or cash and store money safely.
• Verify delivery receipts and signatures.
• Verify and record any cash or check payments.
• Enter exception Drivers Receipt process on pro numbers manually.
• Assist operations by monitoring reports (EDI, spot trailer, etc.).
• Assist OS&D functions including reports and exceptions.
• Answer phones promptly, set appointments and trace shipments.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Old Dominion Freight Line is currently recruiting for a Pickup and Delivery Clerk to join our OD Family Culture. Our Clerk will successfully work with drivers to ensure they have necessary paperwork for their daily runs and assist the dispatchers with administrative needs.

Responsibilities:

• Print drivers’ manifest and provide any hazardous materials of lading to the appropriate personnel

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• 1 years of office and/or operations experience, preferably in the transportation industry

• Experience in using handheld computers/scanners

• Experience with AS400 preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Detail oriented

Compensation Range:

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, skill level, and state/local wage requirements.

($21.12-$25.66)
