Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Pick & Prep associate to prepare products and create a sensory, engaging guest experience. You will engage guests, perform demonstrations, and uphold high standards of sanitation and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on product preparation, sampling, storytelling about Fresh, Healthy, Seasonal, and Local items, plus operating the Pick & Prep area with attention to detail and guest service leadership.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to engage guests and provide friendly service.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks including knife skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage guests through product preparation and sampling.

• Operate Pick & Prep area according to standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety per standards.
• Handle receiving, stocking, merchandising and guest service as needed.

To prepare Pick & Prep product and provide product preparation services to create a sensory and engaging experience for guests, while operating at or above company standards.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage guests through product preparation, active sampling and suggestive selling.
• To personally demonstrate superior guest service at all times. This will included but is not limited to story telling about specific products within the department, highlighting product benefits such as Fresh, Healthy, Seasonal and most importantly Local, etc..
• Demonstrate knife showmanship skills to highlight the services and show offered at Pick & Prep
• Operate the Pick & Prep area according to strict merchandising and operational standards.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

• Demonstrate effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to effectively communicate with, and take direction from supervision.
• Ability to work well with computers and scales.
