Job summary

ResMed is seeking an Area Manager to oversee shipping, receiving, and storage activities, while leading a team to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets. You will drive labor planning, mentor hourly staff, and ensure timely material flow from vendors to inventory and finished goods.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, effective training, and collaboration with senior management to align operations with customer needs and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing inventory control systems and continual improvement programs.
• Strong familiarity with MS Office applications; prior WMS experience.
• Knowledge of federal and local OSHA safety regulations in warehousing and shipping.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer-focused.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Oracle or comparable SCM systems.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System.

The Area Manager will be responsible for the management of all activities and personnel related to shipping, receiving, storing of materials and/or finished goods. • Support all safety programs ensuring a safe work environment
• Review forecasts and determine labor needs to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives
• Meet with team on a daily basis to balance labor ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting daily deadlines
• Foster an environment that harbors continuous improvement and the elimination of non-value added activities
• Ensure proper training of staff in order to effectively and efficiently meet customer demand
• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Ensure materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specification, and shipped in a timely manner
• Ensure quality objectives are met while operating within the allocated budget and meeting delivery deadlines while being flexible and working efficiently
• Manage inventory control to ensure accountability of materials and goods
• Establish appropriate communications (content and frequency) with team to align focus and efforts with organizational and customer needs.
• Establish and/or modify operational methods and procedures as needed
• Recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve area of responsibility or organization as a whole
• Maintain documentation and prepare reports that reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities
• Establish and manage goals for self and/or team that meet or exceed departmental objectives
• Collaborate with peer group, senior management, and field personnel to problem solve and/or resolve issues among functional areas, other sites, or customers and the company
• Manage and sustain product traceability systems, utilizing WMS/Oracle, to support customer and quality requirements
• Ensure health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment overseeing that inspection and maintenance of equipment is done on a regular basis
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

• Must possess a customer-centric commitment to build and maintain customer relationships
• Energetic, self-motivated, and quick thinking with a positive attitude

Desirable

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Oracle or comparable Supply Chain/Logistics systems
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System

Job Environment

Warehouse environment. Incumbent will walk and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 40lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
