Job summary

School of Rock in Rockville, MD is seeking a Piano/keys Instructor to lead music education inside the studio and during rehearsals. You will create dynamic lessons, challenge students, and help them develop music and life skills through performance-based education.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of teaching or professional performance experience, strong knowledge of music theory and curriculum design, and excellent customer relations and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal with a diverse range of customers and people.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Resourceful, problem-solver with a positive, patient demeanor.
• Ideal candidate is a working musician with formal music school training.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction in private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs, and document lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents and stay visible and accessible in the school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic school maintenance; support program execution.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and safety policies at School of Rock.
