Job summary

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced piano instructor to teach part-time at Music House School of Music, Prairie Village, KS location. In-person lessons on Tuesday nights between 3-9pm are typical, with group classes being highly beneficial for candidates.

Responsibilities include private lessons, leading group classes, attending monthly meetings, coordinating events, and communicating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music education or performance preferred.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience; group teaching a plus.
• Performance experience in solo and ensemble settings.
• Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking, listening).
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with technology including computers, mobile devices, and online apps.
• Punctuality and reliable transportation; able to pass routine background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach private piano lessons, building on student strengths and interests.
• Lead group classes using Music House curriculum.
• Attend monthly faculty meetings.
• Assist with three community events per year (recitals, jam sessions, faculty concerts).
• Communicate with parents, faculty, and staff.
• Track attendance and maintain teaching notes.
• Sign students up for performances and prepare them.
• Create or follow lesson plans and teaching guides.
