Job summary

The Salvation Army in Emporia, Kansas is seeking a part-time music program leader to work with children and adults, planning lessons and guiding the program's curriculum. You will collaborate with corps leaders, sponsor year-end recitals, and foster growth in musical skills and personal development.

Responsibilities include coordinating summer camps, encouraging participation, and promoting the Corps' mission within the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Minimum of two years’ music experience with children/adults; performance experience preferred.
• No certifications/licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and other arts programs within the corps; plan weekly music lessons and implement the curriculum.
• Plan and attend recitals; prepare corps music programs for year-end concert participation.
• Encourage participants to develop musical abilities, self-esteem, and school/program pride.
• Assist in ensuring performances heighten awareness of the Corps' community purpose.
• Encourage attendance at summer camps and plan camper participation in divisional and day camps.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
