Job summary

University of Tennessee seeks adjunct instructors for the Fine Arts: Music program to teach piano-based courses and private lessons on campus or online. The primary focus is undergraduate instruction with potential ensemble accompaniment and upper-level courses as needed.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Music with piano specialization, demonstrate strong piano proficiency, and provide excellent communication. Preference given to candidates able to teach on campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music with a specialty in piano.
• Proven track record of quality instruction.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Teach piano-based courses and lessons to undergraduate students.
• Possibly teach upper-level music courses and accompany ensembles.
• Use Canvas to assess projects and record grades in a timely manner.
• Complete required reports, such as early grade alerts and final grades.
• Teach on-campus or online as assigned; face-to-face preferred.
