Job summary

Tetra Tech Digital Systems in Houston, TX is seeking a PI Developer to design and maintain AVEVA PI System solutions that turn raw SCADA/OT data into contextualized, trusted operational information.

You will configure asset models, analytics, and visualizations to support production surveillance and enterprise reporting for our clients. The role requires 3–6 years of hands-on PI experience and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years AVEVA PI System development (OSIsoft PI) including PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, and Interfaces/Connectors.
• Experience building AF templates and Analytics at scale.
• Strong SQL skills and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or .NET/C#.
• Knowledge of SCADA/DCS environments and protocols (OPC UA/DA, Modbus).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PI AF element templates, hierarchies, attributes, and data.
• Build AF Analyses, Event Frames, and Notifications for downtime, deferment, and KPI use cases.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot PI Interfaces and Connectors (OPC DA/UA, Modbus, RDBMS, UFL).
• Develop PI Vision displays and dashboards; support PI DataLink and Excel-based reporting.
• Manage PI Data Archive tasks: tag creation, naming, backfills, and data quality validation.
• Integrate PI data with downstream systems using PI Web API, AF SDK, PI SQL Data Access, PI Integrator.
• Write automation scripts in Python, PowerShell, or C# for bulk config and deployment.
• Participate in requirements gathering, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and cutover activities.
• Produce design docs, configuration records, test protocols, and SOPs.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and training to client ops teams.
