General Overview

We are seeking a PI Systems Developer/Administrator to build and enhance solutions within the AVEVA/OSIsoft PI environment. This position will focus on application development, analytics, integrations, and technical improvements supporting real-time operational data. This candidate will drive development of PI analytics, custom integrations, and applications while keeping the PI Historian platform scalable, secure, and operationally supportable. This role calls for hands on experience with PI Development, administration, scripting, and .NET based solutions, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve highly complex real-time system issues. yes

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and support solutions leveraging the AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System for operational and analytical use cases.
• Develop PI Asset Framework (AF) structures, analytics, calculations, and related reporting capabilities.
• Create applications, automation, scripts, and services using C#/.NET, Python, and shell scripting.
• Develop and support integrations between PI and other enterprise or operational technology platforms.
• Design interfaces, adapters, and data ingestion solutions supporting real-time and near-rea-time data.
• Evaluate business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Investigate complex issues involving PI data collection, system performance, integrations, analytics, and availability.
• Perform root-case analysis and recommend long-term solutions for recurring technical issues.
• Provide technical and administrative expertise for PI platform enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and architectural changes.
• Develop and execute testing strategies for new applications, analytics, interfaces, and system enhancements.
• Partner with users to validate functionality and ensure solutions meet operational requirements prior to production deployment.
• Work closely with engineering, IT, operations, and other stakeholders to deliver PI-related initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and PI expertise to project teams and other technology professionals.
• Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, development practices, integrations, support procedures, and implemented solutions.
• Follow applicable cyber security, regulatory, and compliance standards throughout the development lifecycle.
• Incorporate secure development practices and participate in technical or security reviews as needed.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience within IT, engineering, software development, operational technology, data platforms, or related environments.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience implementing, developing, or supporting AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System solutions within a large or complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of PI System architecture and experience developing solutions using PI Asset Framework and PI Analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex real-time or near-real-time data and application issues.
• Production‑level scripting experience using Python and shell scripting.
• Strong C#/.NET development skills, including experience creating applications or services that interact with PI.
• Experience translating technical and business requirements into maintainable software or system solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing PI interfaces, adapters, APIs, or other custom integrations.
• Background working with industrial, manufacturing, utility, SCADA, or other operational technology environments.
• Experience developing analytics and reporting solutions using operational or time-series data.
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience with reporting or data visualization platforms.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, or similar technologies.
