Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a PI Defense Attorney in Irvine, CA to defend clients in personal injury matters and prosecute or defend claims as needed. The role requires strong research, negotiation, and courtroom skills to manage cases end-to-end.

The attorney will handle depositions, strategy development, and client advisement while coordinating with paralegals and support staff in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid or remote options are available along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in personal injury defense.
• Active member of the State Bar in good standing.
• Proven experience in conducting and defending depositions.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies in personal injury defense.

Job Details

1. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in personal injury cases.
2. Examining legal data to determine advisability of defending lawsuit.
3. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
4. Advising clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
5. Gathering evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
6. Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc.
7. Managing and overseeing paralegals and legal assistants.
8. Preparing for and conducting depositions.
9. Demonstrating superior customer service skills to clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved.
10. Negotiating settlements for legal disputes.
