Job summary

Penn State Abington seeks an engaging and dynamic candidate to fill a newly created Professional Physics Tutor role in the Chaiken Center for Student Success. The tutor will provide Physics tutoring to undergraduates, develop workshops, and create Physics resources that align with course objectives.

The position requires strong communication, teaching, and collaboration with faculty. The tutor will also maintain detailed student records and participate in outreach and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics or related discipline, 3+ years of experience or equivalent.
• Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff to align tutoring with course objectives.
• Experience developing workshops and learning resources.
• Ability to mentor and support a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual Physics tutoring for students.
• Assign practice exercises and review progress.
• Develop and deliver Physics workshops and online resources.
• Maintain records of student progress (Starfish, surveys, reports).
• Coordinate with Chaiken Center staff and academic departments.
