Penn State Abington is seeking a Professional Writing Tutor to provide in-person writing tutoring across the curriculum at the Chaiken Center for Student Success. The role includes developing workshops, maintaining student records, and collaborating with faculty to align tutoring with course goals.

The ideal candidate brings a strong social/behavioral sciences background, solid presentation skills, and a commitment to serving a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred in English, Composition, social/behavioral sciences, or related field.
• 3+ years of related tutoring/education experience or equivalent.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual Writing tutoring for undergraduate students.
• Develop workshops and writing resources aligned with course objectives.
• Maintain records using Starfish and other assessment tools.
• Create and update a Writing-focused Canvas course shell for tutors.
• Collaborate with faculty and student organizations to promote services.
• Participate in outreach to under-served students and coordinate special projects.
