Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on physics laboratory sessions for undergraduate students
• Guide students through experimental procedures and data analysis techniques
• Ensure laboratory safety protocols are followed at all times
• Assist students with equipment operation and troubleshooting
• Evaluate student performance through lab reports and practical assessments
• Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate with technical staff for repairs
• Provide clear explanations of physics concepts and their practical applications
• Support student learning through individual and small group instruction

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics or a closely related field
• Previous teaching or instructional experience in physics laboratories
• Strong knowledge of undergraduate physics principles and laboratory techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings

Preferred Qualifications
