Job summary

Marquette University’s Physics Laboratory Coordinator role supports the physics lab supervisor in preparing for, executing, and evaluating 20 to 35 undergraduate lab sections per semester for PHYS 1001/2, 1003/3H/4/4H, PHYS 1013/1014, ARSC 1020/1021.

The position emphasizes teaching support, lab safety, equipment inventory, and mentoring student employees to ensure smooth lab operations and student learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Some exposure to laboratory or experiential learning (science labs; research; workshops; industry).
• Some instructional experience (teaching; TA; tutoring; leadership; supervisory; etc.)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate teaching lab activity, including running training sessions and maintaining online lab materials.
• supervise student employees, including hiring, training and disciplinary actions.
• Support student success through make-up labs, tutoring, and TA office hours.
