The Physics Department at City College of San Francisco seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to teach a range of physics courses, including conceptual, algebra-based, and calculus-based physics lecture and laboratory courses. The department serves students pursuing majors in engineering, physics, computer science, life sciences, health sciences, and other STEM disciplines, as well as students completing general education requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-centered instruction, equity-minded teaching practices, and maintaining rigorous academic and laboratory standards.
In addition to excellence in teaching, the successful candidate will actively contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of the department through curriculum development, assessment, program review, and participation in departmental and college governance. The faculty member will work collaboratively with colleagues to support student success, develop and improve laboratory curriculum and instructional materials, mentor students pursuing STEM transfer pathways, and advance the mission of City College of San Francisco through service, innovation, and leadership.

In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the SFCCD and AFT Local 2121, fringe benefits include a choice of several health plans, plus $50,000 Group Life Insurance and Dental Care Plan.New employees hired on or after January 1, 2014, will contribute 2% of salary to the San Francisco Retiree Health Care Trust Fund (RHCTF).
