Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach Physics at the Loudoun campus. The position involves planning and delivering courses to students with varied backgrounds in face-to-face, remote, and online formats.

Adjuncts teach up to 12 credit hours in fall/spring and up to 8 in summer, with load based on enrollment and staffing needs. Responsibilities include developing syllabi, maintaining records, and adhering to NOVA and VCCS policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field or master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field.
• Qualifying degrees and coursework must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
