Job summary

Paylocity in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Medical Physicist to derive HDR treatment plans and perform daily QA for the HDR unit. The role includes timely QA tests and reports for IMRT plans, and signing off on plans prepared by a dosimetrist.

You will support the Chief Physicist, conduct weekly and monthly QA on linear accelerators, maintain licenses, and oversee prostate seed implant cases. On-site with preferred 6 months experience and MSc in related fields.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Engineering, physics or mathematics.
• Must be board eligible.
• Prefer 6 months experience.

Responsibilities

• Derives treatment plans for all HDR patients and performs daily QA checks for HDR unit.
• Completes in a timely manner QA testing and fluence distribution reports for all IMRT plans generated.
• Assist Chief Physicist in checking / signing off on treatment plans created by dosimetrist.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Extensive mental demands. Highly technical work with a lot of numerical calculations. This person need to be able to stand or sit in a stationary position 50% of the time and move about the inside of the radiation therapy department to communicate with physicians, dosimetrist, and radiation therapists.
