Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire; ACMP a plus.

Chief Physicist Overview Job Summary

Performs a variety of medical physics responsibiities including oversight for the physics/dosimetry area of the department; development of techniques used to standardize and calibrate imaging and therapy equipment; performs treatment planning for special cases; assists staff with simulations, treatments, and special device fabrication upon request; performs acceptance testing, measurements, commissioning and ongoing quality assurance testing fo linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and other equipment; maintains quality assurance files for state inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for general oversight of physics/dosimetry
• Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as indicated
• Oversees quality control measures
• Participates in Performance Improvement and radiation safety activities
• Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department
• Completes assigned goals

Specifications Experience

• Minimum Required ABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology program
• Preferred/Desired ABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology program
