Job summary

Inova Health System seeks a Physician Vice President for Research Operations to lead the clinical research enterprise with an executive mandate. The role combines full-time clinical duties with strategic oversight, aiming to grow programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and sustain financial health.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent professional degree.
• Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Successful completion of physician residency program.
• Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and enrollment as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
• Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide research strategy and execution.
• Oversee clinical trial operations, budgets, compliance, and workforce development.
• Chair the Research Operations Committee.
• Partner with Service Line Presidents to expand research programs.
• Coordinate research analytics, AI initiatives, and data science resources.
• Develop industry, NIH, foundation, and academic partnerships.
