Summary

North Florida/South Georgia (Lake City) VA Healthcare System's Urology Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Urologist. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to quality care standards and the growth of a VA academic hospital program. Candidates should be excellent communicators, team players, and adaptable to a growing medical center.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending training or license completion applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial appointment requirements under previous standards are deemed qualified.

Basic Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited)
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Completed residency in an accredited Urology program approved by the VA
• Residents in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), with specific restrictions
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Board certification is generally not required unless specified for faculty or supervisory roles
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and meet physical requirements including lifting, reaching, and mobility tasks

Duties

• This is an open continuous announcement; applications are accepted ongoing until filled

• Position offers the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) with eligibility and award details to be reviewed
