Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking moonlighting physicians for its Urgent Care network across the Twin Cities, including St. Paul sites. You will work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, with hours changing by site and caseload fluctuations.

Qualified candidates will have completed at least one year of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or IM/Peds, be licensed or eligible in Minnesota, and hold DEA certification. Experience in urgent care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of first year of accredited residency in family medicine or IM/peds.
• Licensed or eligible for Minnesota medical licensure.
• DEA certification for Minnesota.
• Comfortable treating pediatric and adult patients.
• Commit to covering at least 10 hours a month for 12 months post-credentialing.
• Preferred: 1–2 years urgent care/clinic experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care for pediatric and adult patients.
• Perform suturing, splinting, I&D as required.
• Maintain licensure, credentialing and compliance.
• Cover multiple Fairview Urgent Care sites as needed.

Job Overview

Fairview Urgent Care provides convenient medical care weekdays, evenings and weekends. Physicians working in urgent care provide a broad spectrum of non-emergent care for minor illness and injury. All hospital admissions are referred to the physician on-call for these practices. Moonlighters are needed for a variety of shifts at Fairview Urgent Care centers and at other Fairview clinics in the metro area. Hours vary by site. Volume fluctuates seasonally.

Qualifications

• Completion of the first year of an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatric residency training program. (At this time, we are looking to consider only experienced candidates, or those that are currently Family Medicine PGY-2, IM/Peds PGY-2 or PGY-3)
• Licensed or ability to obtain licensure through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required)
• Must be comfortable seeing pediatric and adult patients
• Must be able to commit to covering at least 10 hours a month, for a minimum of 12 months post-credentialing.
• Skills required include suturing, splinting, I and D.
• Preferred qualifications: 1-2 years of urgent care or clinic experience.

The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions with the same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 40 hours/week. Compensation plans based on productioncan allow for higher pay than the range posted.
