Summary

Physician will provide care to Veterans at the Garner Urgent Care. Primary responsibilities include performing and documenting urgent health care delivery according to VHA and Durham VA standards.

Duties

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and care for Veterans independently at Garner Urgent Care
• Follow approved care standards, procedures, safety protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare team for quality care
• Stay updated on latest clinical practices
• Supervise Physician Assistants in Urgent Care

Administrative & Educational Duties

• Participate in Quality Improvement activities
• Attend emergency department committees
• Educate staff and trainees in Urgent Care practices
• Engage in research and abide by VA research policies

Reporting & Collaboration

Report to the Chief of Emergency Medicine. Work collaboratively with clinicians and leadership. Work is evaluated on service delivery and quality decisions.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• All applicants undergo drug screening, background checks, and security investigation
• Proficiency in English
• Must pass pre-employment physical and comply with vaccination policies

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent from an accredited school
• Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US
• Completed residency in an approved program
• Preferred: 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
