Job description

The VA Tele Critical Care (TCC) program provides 24/7 remote Critical Care for over 80 VA ICUs and 1200 beds across the United States. TCC is staffed with physicians who leverage technology and clinical expertise to care for critically ill Veterans. We are seeking a Physician with a completed Critical Care Fellowship to join one of the 15 locations listed in this announcement.

Tele Critical Care Intensivist Duties:

Responsibilities include providing remote critical care consultation and support across VA facilities, collaborating with on-site teams, and utilizing telemedicine technology to deliver high-quality care.

Requirements:

Basic Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable)
• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Completed residency in an approved specialty leading to board eligibility/certification
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Experience:

• Recent inpatient critical care encounters (within the last 24 months)
• Critical Care Board certification or eligibility
• Completion of an ACGME/AOA-accredited residency and fellowship in critical care medicine
• Current ACLS certification
• Prior telemedicine experience, especially in tele-Critical Care

Physical Requirements: A physical examination is required prior to placement, including capabilities such as lifting, reaching, walking, standing, and visual and auditory acuity, as detailed in VA Directive and Handbook 5019.
