Base pay range

$121,020.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr

Summary

We are looking for a skilled Physician - Diagnostic Radiologist. Diagnostic Radiologists are physicians assigned to Radiology, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine Service, responsible for providing diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine care to patients. The position entails a physician appointment in the Medical Imaging Service of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) at the Nashville campus.

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Interpretation of mammography (screening & diagnostic), nuclear medicine, PET, plain films, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI.
2. Provide general diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services to VA TVHS patients.
3. Perform and interpret studies utilizing PACS and voice recognition systems.
4. Meet productivity benchmarks and interpret studies, generate reports for all credentialed studies.
5. Dictate and sign clinical notes promptly.
6. Communicate critical findings directly with ordering providers.
7. Participate in peer review activities and attend clinical conferences as assigned.
8. Potentially participate in night call and weekend backup duties.
9. Teach, supervise, and evaluate radiology residents and medical students from affiliated medical schools.

• Proficiency in English.
• Complete online onboarding, pass physical exam, and participate in vaccination programs.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license.
• Completed residency in an approved core specialty.
• Proficiency in English.
• Preferred: Training in Nuclear Medicine with ABR and ABNM certifications.

Physical Requirements

Physicians should be physically and mentally capable of performing examinations, diagnosing, treating, and educating residents, with physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending.

Education

MD or equivalent from an accredited institution, with verification for foreign graduates as needed.
