Job description

Seeking BE/BC Faculty Pulmonary or Internal Medicine Physician to join a cystic fibrosis program in Tyler, TX. We are open to candidates practicing pulmonary medicine or general internal medicine alongside their CF responsibilities. Tyler is located in North East Texas, a predominantly rural area covering approximately 17,456 square miles with a population of 2 million.

The CF Center provides comprehensive services for children and adults, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, patient education, teaching, and research. The program plays a vital regional role, particularly for those who might otherwise lack access to specialized CF care. It is the only accredited sweat-chloride testing center in the region, with a medical director collaborating with nationally recognized physicians in bronchiectasis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease.

Responsibilities:

1. Attend weekly clinic and consult on hospitalized CF patients.
2. Collaborate with the CF care team to address individual patient needs.
3. Participate in the CF registry and quality improvement initiatives.
4. Engage in research within the therapeutic development network.
5. Assist the center director and CF coordinator with the annual grant budget.
6. Attend the North American cystic fibrosis conference annually.
7. Teaching opportunities are available at the medical school and among 12 ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs.
