We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Faculty Pulmonary or Internal Medicine Physician to join our cystic fibrosis program in Tyler, TX. The role entails providing comprehensive services to children and adults with cystic fibrosis, including patient care, teaching, research, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Seeking BE/BC Faculty Pulmonary or Internal Medicine Physician to join cystic fibrosis program in Tyler, TX. We are happy to consider candidates who practice pulmonary medicine or general internal medicine in addition to their CF responsibilities. Tyler is located in North East Texas, a predominantly rural area of approximately 17,456 square miles with a population of 2 million people.

Caring for children and adults, the CF Center provides comprehensive services ranging from evaluation and diagnosis to treatment, patient education, teaching and research. The program serves a vital role in the region. We care for people who would otherwise not have access to care by a CF center. It offers the only accredited sweat-chloride testing center in the region, and our medical director works alongside physicians nationally known for their work in bronchiectasis and in non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease.

  • Attend weekly clinic and consult on patients admitted to the hospital with CF.
  • Work with the CF care team to meet each patient’s individual needs.
  • Participate in the CF registry.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in research as part of the therapeutic development network.
  • Work with the center director and the CF coordinator on the yearly grant budget.
  • Attend the yearly North American cystic fibrosis conference.
  • Teaching opportunities exist at medical school and 12 ACGME-approved residency and fellowship programs.
