This position is based at VA North Texas Health Care System, providing mental health care across various clinics in Dallas, Ft. Worth, Grand Prairie, Sherman, or Tyler, Texas. A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive and the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) are available.

Pay Range

Range: $225,000.00/yr - $275,000.00/yr. Actual pay depends on skills and experience.

Summary

The VA North Texas Health Care System is recruiting Psychiatrists to serve our Veteran patients in various clinics and specialty areas. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric care, managing a broad range of clinical problems, and collaborating with educational programs.

Types of Psychiatry Positions

• General Psychiatrist: Provides assessment, consultation, and treatment for mental health conditions including PTSD, mood, anxiety, psychotic disorders, substance use, and elderly psychiatric disorders.
• Addiction Psychiatrist: Focuses on Veterans with addictions and substance use disorders in outpatient settings.
• Primary Care - Mental Health Integration Psychiatrist: Provides integrated mental health care within primary care clinics, collaborating with primary care teams.

Work Schedule & Benefits

Typically Monday-Friday (8:00 am - 4:30 pm), with on-call responsibilities. Flexible schedules and telework options may be available. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including incentives and student loan repayment options.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited school.
• Current, unrestricted medical license.
• Completed residency training approved by VA standards.
• Proficiency in English.

Preferred Experience

• ABPN Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry.
• Experience with Buprenorphine treatment preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Background/security investigation.
• Participation in vaccination programs.
