The role offers opportunities to participate in outpatient care if desired and exposure to innovative treatments including TMS, ECT, and ketamine

Qualifications

• MD or DO required for medical licensure in DC.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry required or anticipated.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Commitment to teamwork and collaborative practice is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychiatric care to adults admitted for acute mental health needs.
• Be a key member of a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, NP, social workers, and other professionals.
• Contribute to both inpatient and potential outpatient care as needed.
• Engage in innovative treatment modalities such as TMS, ECT, and ketamine therapies.

Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our collaborative and growing Behavioral Health team in Washington, DC.

This psychiatrist will serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality psychiatric care to adults admitted for acute mental health needs. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, team-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where providers support one another across services to ensure exceptional patient care.

Position Highlights

• Adult inpatient psychiatry practice
• Voluntary 19-bed inpatient psychiatric unit
• Collaborative team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, and behavioral health professionals
• Opportunity to participate in outpatient care, if desired
• Exposure to innovative treatment modalities including:
• Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
• Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
• Ketamine treatment services
• Strong physician-led culture emphasizing teamwork and collegiality, assisting colleagues when patient volumes fluctuate

Qualifications
