Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hospital in Honolulu, HI seeks a Physician Practice Assistant - Per Diem to support the medical and nursing staff during outpatient clinic appointments. You will perform routine clinical and clerical tasks, including phlebotomy and assisting with casts.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, assisting physicians and RNs, documenting in the EMR, and ensuring supplies and equipment are ready. Per diem, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• Two years' pediatric care experience preferred.
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in rooming patients, takes vital signs, prepares exam rooms, assists the physician and RN.
• Documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Preps clinic by ordering and monitoring supply levels and equipment.
• Uses clinical judgment to identify problems and make referrals to the RN as needed.
