Responsibilities

The supervisor provides broad instructions on policy, program requirements, objectives, and procedures. The employee is expected to work independently as a staff Pediatrician, performing duties within established policies and directives, exercising independent judgment in diagnosis, treatment, referral, and patient disposition, in accordance with medical standards and organizational policies. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing medical care to beneficiaries, conducting physical exams of infants and children, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing treatments, providing consultations, emergency care, and arranging hospitalizations or surgeries as needed.
  • Supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), assigning work, providing guidance, developing performance plans, and conducting evaluations.
  • Responding to telephonic and remote inquiries, providing advice, follow-up care, and possibly after-hours telephonic care.
  • Accurately documenting medical records, participating in meetings, CME, quality improvement, and providing consultation to other healthcare providers.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • Board Certified/Eligible
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited U.S. or Canadian school, or equivalent certification for foreign graduates.
  • Valid, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
