An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a dedicated Primary Health Care Physician to join their team. This role involves providing comprehensive medical services, diagnosing and treating patients, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Medical Director, the physician will perform medical services. The Primary Health Care Physician will examine, diagnose, and treat patients seeking acute medical care at the clinic. Responsibilities include determining the necessity for referrals, referring patients to appropriate specialists, discussing findings with external providers, supervising physician assistants and nurse practitioners, developing call schedules, providing coverage every 4-6 weeks, and maintaining EHR records.
Additional duties include diagnosing and treating common health problems, advising patients on developmental and maturational issues, providing counseling and information to help patients make informed decisions, considering cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors, coordinating patient services, collaborating with other physicians, responding to medical emergencies, and, for pediatric providers, assessing growth and development of children aged 0-18 years, including administering immunizations and communicating effectively with parents and children.
The physician will participate in QA/QI, QM, and Peer Review meetings, attend ongoing training on EHR systems, PCMH, and CMEs, review quality measures and patient satisfaction surveys, implement improvement plans, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Knowledge of board-certified principles and practices of modern medicine, including preventive medicine. Mature judgment, tact, discretion, confidentiality, and effective representation are mandatory. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Other Requirements: Dependable automobile with insurance, valid California driver’s license, ability to pass drug tests, background checks, and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TB test, Hepatitis B, MMR, and TDAP vaccines. BLS/CPR certification required.
Qualifications: Valid Physicians and Surgeons Certificate issued by the State of California.
