An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Primary Health Care Physician to join their team in Baldwin Park, CA. This role involves providing comprehensive medical services, including diagnosing and treating patients, collaborating with other healthcare providers, and maintaining electronic health records. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Medical Director, the physician will perform medical services. The Primary Health Care Physician will examine, diagnose, and treat patients who come to the clinic for acute medical care. They will determine the necessity for referral and refer patients requiring special diagnostic procedures and treatments to appropriate sources; discuss findings with external providers; supervise the work of physician assistants and nurse practitioners; participate in developing the call schedule and provide coverage every four to six weeks; and maintain electronic health record (EHR) patient records.
The physician will diagnose and treat common health problems, advise and counsel patients on developmental and maturational issues, and provide information to enable informed decisions. They will consider individual cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors, provide referrals, coordinate patient services, and collaborate closely with other physicians. They must respond to medical emergencies in life-threatening situations.
For Pediatric providers: Assess the growth and development of children aged 0-18 years, track and administer immunizations on schedule, and communicate effectively with parents and children.
The physician will participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI), Quality Management (QM), and Peer Review meetings. They will attend ongoing training on the EHR system, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), and Continuing Medical Education (CME). They will review quality measures and patient satisfaction surveys and implement improvement plans as needed. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements: Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern medicine, including preventive medicine. Mature judgment, tact, discretion, and confidentiality are mandatory. A professional, pleasant, and effective representation of the organization is required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Other Requirements: Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance, a valid California driver's license, and submit to and pass a drug test, fitness for duty assessment, and criminal background check. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TB test, Hepatitis B, MMR, and TDAP vaccines is required. BLS/CPR certification is required.
Qualifications: Possession of a valid Physicians and Surgeons Certificate issued by the State of California.
