Summary

The James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN, is seeking a Pathologist (Cytopathology) for the Path and Lab Service Line. The incumbent will report directly to the Service Chief of Path and Lab. Board Certification in Cytopathology is highly desired.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who met the previous qualification standard are deemed qualified.

Basic Requirements:

• United States Citizenship; non-citizens only if qualified citizens are unavailable
• Doctor of medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Completion of residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Preferred: Board Certification in Cytopathology

Duties

• This announcement remains open until the position is filled; applications are reviewed bi-weekly
• The pathologist will participate in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology services
