Job summary

Geisinger Eye Institute seeks a retina medical and/or surgical specialist to join a multi-specialty ophthalmology group in a large tertiary center. Opportunities to develop a program, conduct research, and teach residents abound in a growing Geisinger system.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine required.
• Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and teach ophthalmology residents as part of a growing residency program.
• Utilize extensive diagnostic tools (OCT/OCAT, fluorescein, ICG angiography, widefield imaging, echography, photodynamic therapy).
• Work at Geisinger owned surgical facilities on campus and at nearby centers.
• Collaborate with Advance Practitioners and a large referral base from onsite Optometrists and physicians.

• Growing ophthalmology residency at Geisinger gives great opportunity to mentor and teach

• Highly trained and experienced support and medical staff
\
• Extensive diagnosis/treatment tools including OCT/OCAT/ fluorescein and ICG angiography, widefiled imaging, echogrpahy, and photodynamic therapy.

• Geisinger owned surgical facilities- on main campus and nearby outpatient surgery center
\
• Support from Advance Practitioners
\
• Clinics have over 50 exam rooms
\
• Shared call (home call)
\
• A large referral base from our onsite Optometrists, local Ophthalmologists and physicians in our satellite offices
