Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing is seeking an Oncologist for a 13-week locum tenens assignment in Saint Louis, MO. The role includes day and night coverage, bone marrow biopsies, stem cell infusions, and comprehensive patient management in a BMT/hematology setting.

Exceptions include maintaining MO licensure, board certification, and BLS with ACLS preferred. Weekly pay and full credentialing support are provided by the staffing agency.

Qualifications

• Board certification in oncology/hematology or hematology-oncology
• Licensed to practice in MO
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemptions

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage for day and night shifts in a BMT/Hematology & Cellular Therapy setting
• Perform bone marrow biopsies and assist with stem cell infusions/transfusions
• Manage admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and expectations
• Monitor transplant complications (GVHD, CRS, ICANS) and manage daily census of 8–12 patients
• Collaborate with attending physicians and documentation in Epic EMR

Job Title: Oncologist
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Schedule: 7:00AM - 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $98 - $105/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncologist for a temporary assignment in Saint Louis, Missouri. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Oncologist:

• Provide ongoing inpatient coverage for day and night shifts in a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) / Hematology & Cellular Therapy practice setting
• Night Shift coverage: 1800–0700 (2 FTE); Day Shift coverage: 0700–1800 (1 FTE; may transition to 0700–1900)
• Perform bone marrow biopsies
• Assist with stem cell infusions/transfusions
• Conduct patient admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education
• Manage transplant and cellular therapy complications including GVHD, CRS, and ICANS
• Manage an average daily census of 8–12 adult patients
• Work collaboratively with attending physicians as support staff
• Utilize Epic EMR/charting system for all documentation
• Maintain active MO state licensure and required board certification
• Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Adhere to COVID-19 vaccination requirement (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Submit availability for January–March as scheduling is coordinated 3 months in advance
• Ensure CV is submitted in mm/yy–mm/yy format with department and role clearly specified
• Provide explanations for any work history gaps exceeding 30 days
• Return any facility-issued equipment at the end of assignment
