Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing is seeking an Oncologist for a 26-week locum tenens assignment in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. The role involves day-shift coverage in a hospital-based oncology clinic and infusion center, with responsibilities for new patient consults and follow-ups, plus inpatient rounding with the APP team.

The ideal candidate is board-certified in Medical Oncology, holds Wisconsin licensure or eligibility, and maintains BLS and ONS chemotherapy certification.

Qualifications

• MD oncologist board-certified in Medical Oncology.
• Wisconsin state licensure or eligibility.
• BLS certification and ONS Chemotherapy Certification.
• Experience in outpatient medical oncology and infusion center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekday day-shift coverage in a hospital-based outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center, Monday through Friday.
• Manage new patient consults and follow-up appointments in the outpatient medical oncology clinic.
• Perform inpatient rounding independently with APP team, about 2 patients per day.
• See ~8 patients daily for primary caseload and manage ~15–20 outpatient visits per day.
• Oversee a case mix of ~85% oncology and 15% hematology patients.
• Provide treatment oversight including IV/oral chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and clinical trials.
• Write and supervise chemotherapy orders and manage oncologic emergencies.
• Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary reviews and supervise APPs.

Pay Rate: $423 - $455/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncologist for a temporary assignment in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. These positions are 26-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Oncologist:

• Provide weekday day-shift coverage in a hospital-based outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Manage new patient consults and follow-up appointments in the outpatient medical oncology clinic
• Perform inpatient rounding independently and collaboratively with the APP team, with approximately 2 inpatient rounding patients per day
• See approximately 8 patients per day for primary caseload and manage approximately 15–20 outpatient visits per day
• Oversee and manage a case mix of approximately 85% oncology and 15% hematology patients
• Provide treatment oversight including IV/oral chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and clinical trials
• Write and supervise chemotherapy orders
• Manage oncologic emergencies as they arise
• Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case reviews
• Supervise APPs in accordance with facility bylaws
• Provide second call coverage every third weekend
• Utilize Epic and Aria EMR systems for documentation and patient management
• Complete online EMR modules and any required pre-employment training prior to the first day of assignment
• Maintain Board Certification in Medical Oncology
• Maintain current BLS certification, ONS Chemotherapy Certification, and Bone Marrow Biopsy certification
• Hold valid IMLC and Wisconsin state licensure
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and credentialing requirements per SSM
