Job Summary:

The Medical Director provides clinical oversight, expertise, leadership, patient care, and direction for the administration of the onsite health care clinic to ensure the delivery of quality occupational health care services as defined by national and local standards. The Medical Director oversees and directs clinical services and serves as a liaison with site leadership, providers, supervising physicians, and other key stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide clinical guidance, leadership, and medical expertise in the development, implementation, and medical interpretation of occupational health management policy, procedure, and guidelines for client sites.
2. Provide oversight and direction of provider education, training, and orientation.
3. Participate in provider profiling functions, identify health and safety management trends, and address potential gaps in employee injury prevention.
4. Ensure confidentiality of medical records, client information, and treatments.
5. Provide medical guidance and supervision of injury prevention management and workers' compensation case management activities.
6. Oversee the program's case management functions.
7. Monitor and track program performance indicators to ensure cost-effective care with quality standards.
8. Evaluate over-utilization of emergency room and other off-site care.
9. Participate in audits and develop clinical care standards, guidelines, and protocols.
10. Participate in OSHA processes and short-term disability and FMLA procedures.
11. Act as liaison between client contacts, program sponsors, providers, employees, and management regarding medical issues.
12. Partner with risk management, safety, and HR at client sites as needed.
