Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI seeks a BC/BE OBGYN to join our Laborist program, providing 24-hour shifts and full‑spectrum obstetrics, gynecology and urogynecology care.

Join a small, collaborative team including CNMs and APCs, with opportunities for academic involvement, education, research, and participation in a robotic DaVinci Xi program.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required and board certification in OB/GYN preferred.
• Completion of an ABMS/ AOA residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience with obstetric deliveries, gynecologic surgeries, and urogynecology as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum obstetric, gynecologic and urogynecologic care.
• Cover inpatient call with 24-hour shifts.
• Collaborate with CNMs and APCs in a team-based model.
• Participate in education and research initiatives.

Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE OBGYN physician to join our well-established and growing women’s health team as a system-wide Laborist. Fulfilling an annual requirement of 88 shifts (24 hours) per year, this physician would play a key role.

Job Description

Gynecologic Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, consult and provide pre‑, intra‑ and postoperative care necessary to correct or treat female patients of all ages presenting with injuries and disorders of the female reproductive system and the genitourinary system and nonsurgical treatment disorders and injuries of the mammary glands.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: an applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
• OR an applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
• The applicant must be able to demonstrate competence and adequate volumes of experience to include 50 deliveries (including 5 cesarean sections) and 25 gynecological surgical procedures (if applicable to privileges requested) in the last 12 months.
• More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
• Successful completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
• Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)
• Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
